March 13th 2020 - Corona Virus Update
In light of the recent press conference with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and the rapidly developing landscape surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we are reaching out to advise you of our facility’s policy changes that are effective immediately.
Governor DeWine, in an Ohio Department of Health Order signed by its Director, Amy Acton, ordered as follows:
The prohibition of mass gatherings defined as “any event or convening that brings together one hundred (100) or more persons in a single room or single space at the same time”.
The Order clarifies, “A mass gathering does not include athletic events that exclude spectators. Athletic and other events do not need to be cancelled or postponed if spectators and other attendees are excluded.” (Section 4)
Additionally, “This Order does not apply to immediate family members of participants in the athletic or other event, as well as anyone necessary for the event to take place.” (Section 5)
While the vast majority of athletic events in our facilities are compliant with the governor’s order, during peak hours, from time-to-time, we exceed the 100-person limit. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, effective immediately, all games and training at our facilities are postponed through Monday, March 16th
Please note some events will continue this weekend as requested. If you have any questions, please contact your club/team administrator.
During these next four days, we will be preparing our facility so that starting Tuesday, March 17th, patrons can resume activities with the confidence that we are in complete compliance with Governor DeWine’s Order.
Preparations will include:
- Schedule modifications, including additional postponements, to control peak occupancy periods.
- Limitations on the number of spectators.
- Antibacterial hand sanitizer at the front desk and bathroom.
- Turf Sanitization completed
We will also be monitoring all local, state, and federal guidance very closely. As guidance is evolving day by day, you will be promptly notified of any changes in our policies.
Moreover, when activities resume, we ask that persons who are not feeling well, have a fever, or other symptoms related to COVID-19 opt out of attending their scheduled activity at our facility. If you do come in with any of these symptoms, we reserve the right to politely ask you to leave. We will also ensure that our staff takes the same precautions in return.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we must prioritize the wellbeing of our community first and foremost. This will pass.
Please also understand, that to the extent that our facilities can preserve any semblance of normalcy during these extraordinary times, we will bend over backwards to do so.
Unless you specifically hear from us otherwise, you may continue to plan on attending your scheduled events as of Tuesday, March 17th.
